Personality:
Family and friendship are two of her most powerful driving forces, she would do anything to protect her little sister and would jump right into the fire alongside her friends. No challenge is ever big enough to scare her away from doing what's right and she all too easily compromises even her own wellbeing to do right by the people she cares about.
Her studious nature and inquisitive tendencies are constantly getting her into trouble but where that might falter her thoroughness and dependability more than makes up for it. She'll see a fight through until the end, no matter what sacrifices might need to be made to ensure success. This same altruistic nature can also be her undoing, jumping into situations without enough investigation and acting only on grit and emotion.
Emotion is a major part of who she is and that same empathy, sympathy, and self-doubt is universally wrapped up in everything that is "Gert Yorkes," but where it shines brightly and creates the most amazing moments of trust and vulnerability between her, her sister, and her friends it also backfires where her own judgments are concerned. She can, at times, have difficulty relinquishing her ground and with a mean temper given to her by both of her parents can come off as pious in her attempt to stay boastfully secure to her own beliefs. She's not so stubborn that she won't come around to a different way of thinking with time and evidence to support her. The downside is that in everything she hopes to do and achieve her own mortality is often a constant reminder. She goes through the same insecurity, anger, and frustration as anyone else but sometimes forgets to give herself permission to be human.
With a quick wit and a sharp tongue, it's easy to see why Gert is such a meaningful part of her group in their journey to take on their own parents and deface their own legacies. To her, the most profound way to prove herself is to pick up where her other friends can't and defend them when they're too meek to speak up for themselves. As one of the most fastidious among them, she is constantly out of the box thinking and using wiles to get them the information and access they're needing. She finds solace in using her intellect as a weapon and has no qualms about giving tongue lashings as well as pep talks when the occasion calls for it. Her own sarcastic nature and her grip on reality while everyone else played house to forget about the friend they lost makes her a grounding force, something she's familiar with, as a big sister with the burden of time, patience, and cunning as her most powerful assets.
Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: No powers outside of a telekinetic connection and understanding with a Deinonychus which she's aptly named Old Lace after a favorite film of hers.
Inventory: If allowed, I'd like to bring Old Lace to the game. It's a huge part of who Gert is and directly tied to her sense of belonging and her drive to fight. Old Lace primarily eats garbage and wouldn't be a threat to other player character's in the game unless discussed previously.

Then, all she can remember is darkness, and hazy images she's not really able to identify. Maybe it's a dream, maybe none of it ever happened, and it was all some sadistic dreamscape fever dream she'd been dealing with this whole time.
Who was she kidding? Life was never that simple and no one ever got off that easy. Definitely not her of all people.
When Gert snaps back to reality, she knows she's on her side because the landscape is all wrong, the sky is where it shouldn't be and the grass underneath her is taking the place of the billowing clouds. This isn't where she left off, there's no trace of Chase, of Karolina. As far as she can see it's just landscape, a building off in the distance standing tall over the foreign stretch of land.
"Hello?" Maybe this is the dream, maybe a night of no sleep gave way to some alternate reality that didn't have the same struggles. Gert finally finds her hands enough to sit back up, she climbs to her feet after a brief moment taken to adjust her glasses.
Nothing, not even the sound of birds or any creatures frolicking to comfort her. Suddenly she's painfully aware of how alone she really is. Her arms find refuge over her shoulders in a subconscious effort to protect herself. "Old Lace?!" She calls out to her friend, her confidant, in the harshest whisper she can manage. Even Gert isn't sure why she's being quiet, but by now she knows better than to take anything at face value. "...Molly?"

[Priorities. Focus on family first, without giving too much away, and then the more obvious so she can get some leads on where she is and where they might be.]
This isn't Los Angeles. Not sure what I stumbled into, and I can't find the mall directory map with the triangulated You-Are-Here sign. There aren't any other indicators of life, and I've exhausted my ability to take the stairs and look floor by floor.
